Imam Ali Birth Celebration

Dear friends,

We are pleased to inform you that the Imam Hossein Cultural Centre of Ottawa is organizing a gathering to celebrate the birth of Imam Ali (pbuh). This program includes supplication, congregational prayers, chorus line performance, Eid reading challenge contest, live music, charity bake sale contest, refreshments, and separate program for children. Program is held in Persian.

Time: Sunday, January 21, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm

Venue: Community Cultural Centre (CCC), located at:
Unit 8, 58 Antares Dr, Ottawa, ON K2E 7W6

To attend the ceremony, please note that due to our venue capacity limit and in order to provide a safe environment for everyone, we would have to implement a limited registration policy for our guests. Hence, registration is mandatory and only those who have registered are allowed to attend. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in advance.

Eid Reading Challenge

We are holding a book reading challenge for this Eid. You need to read Letter 31 of Nahjul-Balagha (Imam Ali’s letter to Imam Hassan) and then there will be a contest in the program related to the content of this letter. Access the Persian and Arabic text (and audio) of this letter from here.

Fundraising Bake Sale

We cordially invite all talents in baking pastries to participate in this contest. Please let us know your suggested type of pastry via the Contact Us page, bring in your baked pastries to the celebration venue, sell them at your arbitrary price, donate the portion of income as you desire to support CCC, and give yourself a chance of winning the bake sale contest.

We look forward to seeing you!
