Birth of Prophet Mohammad and Imam Sadegh Get-Together
Dear friends,
We are pleased to inform you that the Imam Hossein Cultural Centre of Ottawa is organizing a gathering to celebrate the auspicious birth of Prophet Mohammad Mustafa (pbuh) and Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (pbuh). Originally, a lively outdoor program was planned for this occasion, but we had to change it to an indoor family gathering due to the rainy weather for this entire weekend.
This program includes Eid get-together, Ash Reshteh cooking competition, volunteer appreciation, toy drive campaign for the Children’s Hospital, screening of the “Filshah” animation movie, and entertainment and artistic booths for children.
Time: Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 5 pm to 7 pm
Venue: Community Cultural Centre (CCC), located at:
Unit 8, 58 Antares Dr, Ottawa, ON K2E 7W6
Ash Reshteh Cooking Competition
Those who wish to participate in this competition can cook Ash Reshteh to their liking and bring it along to the event. We will provide serving dishes. The proceeds from the sale of Ash bowls will be used to cover the expenses of maintaining the CCC. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
Toy Drive Campaign for CHEO
In accordance with our annual tradition, the Imam Hossein Cultural Centre of Ottawa, in collaboration with the CHEO Foundation, invites you to bring joy and blessings to the children and teenagers under treatment at the CHEO Hospital by donating toys, hygiene items, or cash. Simply bring one or more items from the following list to the event. You can also deliver your cash donations to the centre on the day of the program, and we will ensure they reach CHEO.
Exciting news for our children! We will also have a special guest from CHEO whom you’d love to meet and can take a memorable photo with!!
Please note:
– For hygiene reasons, all items must be new and in original packaging.
– Scented products or items containing latex cannot be accepted.
– Toys and items should preferably be small or medium-sized.
– Needed items: Lego sets ($15-20), Hot Wheels cars, crayons and markers (small packs), dolls and stuffed animals, puzzles (large pieces), sticker sheets, teenage coloring books, playdough, notebooks, headphones, toothpaste, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and cleansing wipes.
We look forward to seeing you!
