Muharram Programs 2022

Dear friends!

You are cordially invited to join IHCCO as we commemorate Aba Abdillah (pbuh) in the coming Muharram as follows:

Time: Friday, July 29 to Monday, August 8, 2022, every night from 7 pm to 9:30 pm

Day of Ashura: Monday, August 8, 2022, 11 am to 2 pm

Venue: Community Cultural Centre (CCC) and the side hall, located at:

Third Floor, 3025 Albion Rd N, Ottawa, ON K1V 9V9

The programs will include reciting Ziyarat Ashura, congregational prayer, mourning for Aba Abdullah (a.s.), and sermons as follows:

🔸Nights 1-3: Dr. Hamidreza Maghsoodi. Farsi lecture. Topic: “Karbala: The Reflection of Patience and Satisfaction”.

🔸Nights 4-5: Sr. Shabnam Dewji. English lecture focusing on teenagers. Topic: “Living a Life in Pursuit of God Consciousness”.

🔸Nights 7-8: Dr. Mohammadreza Ardehali. Farsi lecture. Topic: “Imam Hossein; The Educator and Mentor of Devoted Children”.

🔸Nights 9-11: Dr. Hamidreza Mohebbi. Farsi lecture. Topic: “The Gem of Ethics in the School of Ahlul-bayt”.

The adults’ programs will be held in the side hall of CCC, while the children will also have separate programs in the CCC’s hall.

Please note that:

🦠 Participants should have no symptoms.

📍 Park your cars in the front parking lots and enter the building using the main entrance door as shown on the attached map.

♿️ Elevator is out of service.

🔸 You could contribute to Muharram programs by donating through this page.

🍪 If you’d like to prepare Nazri for the attendees of a program, please coordinate beforehand via text at 613-434-3454. The foods better be packaged in separate containers distributable to each individual.

♻️ We recycle during the Muharram events. Throwing items in the correct bins of the recycle units is highly appreciated. 

Blood Donation Campaign

This year, we’re holding our annual blood donation campaign in honour of Imam Hossein in collaboration with the Who is Hussain organization, as part of the Global Blood Heroes campaign to collect 50,000 blood units happening on Saturday, August 27, 2022. There is a need for blood donation more than ever in Canada due to the significant decline in donations due to the pandemic. One hour of your time could save three lives. Check your eligibility to donate with this two-minute quiz. A representative of Canadian Blood Services will also attend our events to provide further information.
