Condolences on the Martyrdom Anniversary of Imam Askari

Tomorrow marks the tragic day when the eleventh Imam of the Shia Muslims, the father of our Imam Zaman, Abu Muhammad Hasan ibn Ali al-Askari (a.s) was martyred. We can learn much from the life of this great personality and role model. Imam Askari (a.s.) said, “Worship is not abundant fasting and praying, but worship is abundant pondering; it is the continuous thinking of Allah.” The Imam established the bases of faith in Allah, and the most important one of which was thinking of Allah, and pondering on His wonderful creation which leads us to the absolute faith in Allah. It is also narrated from him: “What a bad man he is who has two faces and two tongues! He praises his brother when he is present and backbites him when he is absent. He envies him if he is given, and betrays him if he is afflicted.”

Condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Askari (pbuh). May Allah help us to be one of his true followers by reflecting on our great creator, and thinking before acting.
