Commemorating the Day of Arafah
The Day of Arafah, which falls on the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah, is considered one of the most virtuous days of the year for having prayers answered. Arafah Day is observed one day before Eid al-Adha, and supplications are considered the most worthy on this day. On the day of Arafat, it is highly recommended to make a pilgrimage to recite the Arafah prayer.
O God, make me humble before You, as if I see You, and make me fortunate through my piety. Do not make me unfortunate through disobedience. Designate goodness for me and bestow blessings upon me, so that I may not desire what You have taken away or delay what You have granted. O God, grant me self-sufficiency in my soul, certainty in my heart, sincerity in my actions, clarity in my eyes, and vision in my religion.
O God, remove my afflictions, cover my flaws, and forgive my sins…
O Most Generous, today as You spread the table of forgiveness and mercy over the earth and the heavens, and as You bless Your servants and shower them with favors,
My needy hands are raised before Your self-sufficient threshold. I attach the strings of my hopes and wishes to the boundless sea of Your generosity and benevolence, and I say,
A part of the prayer of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) on the Day of Arafah.
