Recent Crimes in the Middle East

In line with the promotion of ethical, humane, and Islamic values, the Imam Hossein Cultural Centre of Ottawa deeply condemns the recent events and tragedies occurred in the Middle East and the land of Palestine. Violence and inhumane acts by any party or group are condemned; however, the extensive and limitless crimes against innocent citizens and children, and racial cleansing, which is definitely a serious violation of human rights, are indeed blatant oppression against humanity, causing pain to the heart of every free soul. Inspired by the peaceful teachings of the Holy Quran, which states, “Whoever kills an innocent person, it is as if he has killed all of humanity,” we stand together in solidarity and harmony to establish peace and justice worldwide.

Moreover, violent and Islamophobic behaviors arising from recent events, especially in our multicultural city and country, are by no means acceptable. We strongly oppose any form of extreme discrimination based on nationality, race, religion, or gender, and invite everyone not to be indifferent to such events. In the face of such behaviors, it is essential to report to legal authorities and the media to preserve the security and tranquility of our diverse society.

We pray to the Almighty for the establishment of peace, justice, spiritual life, and humanity so that none of His people, including all fellow citizens, compatriots, co-religionists, and fellow human beings living in Iran, Canada, and other parts of this world, face oppression and injustice.
