Muharram Programs 2025

Dear friends!

You are cordially invited to join IHCCO as we commemorate Imam Hossein (pbuh) during the upcoming month of Muharram as follows:

Date: Thursday, June 26 to Sunday, July 6, 2025

Time: Every night from 6:30 pm to 8 pm

Day of Ashura: Sunday, July 6, 2025, 11 am to 2 pm

Venue: Community Cultural Centre (CCC), located at:

58 Antares Dr, Unit 8, Ottawa, ON K2E 7W6

Given the difficult and heartbreaking situation currently unfolding in our homeland, this year’s program will look a little different. We will hold only five special sessions for children, running from July 2 to July 6 (5:45 pm to 6:30 pm).

The adult program will be simpler this year, including Quran recitation, Ziyarat Ashura, recitations, and mourning rituals. We will also have a special artistic segment dedicated to reflecting on and honoring the current circumstances. More details about this part of the program are provided below.

Please note that:

🔸 You could contribute to Muharram programs by donating through this page.

🍪 If you’d like to prepare Nazri for the attendees of a program, please coordinate beforehand.

♻️ We recycle during the Muharram events. Throwing items in the correct bins of the recycle units is highly appreciated.

Blood Donation Campaign

Creating Art for Iran – By Our Artists and Volunteers

This year, the month of Muharram arrives while our hearts are heavy with sorrow over the recent events that have disturbed the peace of our beloved Iran. In these days of mourning and reflection, we invite our talented community members to join us in creating a collection of heartfelt artworks—calligraphy and painting—born of love, sorrow, and hope.

To make this possible, we will gather each evening from June 26 to July 1 before the main program (from 5:45 to 6:30 PM) to work on these collaborative pieces. No prior experience in calligraphy or painting is needed—just bring your creativity and spirit. Everyone is welcome to contribute.

At the end of the program, these artworks will be auctioned, and all proceeds will be donated to support the people of Iran. Join us, and let art become a bridge of compassion and solidarity.

Keep us in your prayers,
