Commemorating Mab’ath of Prophet Mohammad
In these sorrowful days, as our community remains deeply concerned about our homeland, the Imam Hossein Cultural Centre of Ottawa expresses its heartfelt condolences for the loss of our compatriots and the tragic deaths of our nation’s youth.
The mission of the Prophet of Islam was grounded in human dignity, moral integrity, and justice. The Holy Quran affirms the dignity of all human beings (Quran 17:70) and warns that God is not unaware of the actions of oppressors, for whom grave consequences await (Quran 14:42; 11:102). Sent as a mercy to all humanity (Quran 21:107), the Prophet called for the perfection of moral virtues, a responsibility his followers must reflect through their conduct, as Imam Sadegh also stated: “Be an adornment for us, not a source of shame.”
On the anniversary of the Prophet Mohammad’s mission (Mab’ath), we pray for the preservation of human dignity, the end of oppression, the spread of justice, and the honor and success of our homeland and people.
