Happy Canada Day
Today, we acknowledge and honour the Indigenous peoples whose traditional lands we reside on. We recognize their enduring connection to this land and the injustices they continue to face. Reconciliation and the protection of Indigenous rights must remain at the heart of our collective journey forward.
Canada’s diversity is one of its greatest strengths — a reflection of the verse in the Quran:
“O mankind! We created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another. Verily, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you.” (Holy Quran, 49:13)
As we celebrate, we express gratitude for the many blessings we enjoy in this beautiful country — freedom, safety, and opportunity — and we are reminded to use them to uphold human dignity and justice for all.
This day is not just a celebration, but a commitment: to stand by one another, to speak out against injustice, cruelty, and violence wherever they occur, and to work together for a more peaceful and equitable world.
Happy Canada Day!
