IHCCO Statement Regarding the Crisis in Iran
With heavy hearts, we witness the brutal attacks by Israel and the ongoing violence in our motherland, Iran, and the broader region. As an Iranian-Canadian cultural centre, IHCCO’s deepest concern is the safety and dignity of innocent civilians, especially our fellow Iranians whose lives and futures are being torn apart.
We are deeply saddened and gravely concerned by this escalation. While IHCCO remains non-political, we speak with moral clarity: the targeting of civilians, the violation of borders, and the loss of innocent life anywhere in this world are tragedies we firmly condemn.
To our community with friends and families in Iran: we see your fear, your sorrow, and your longing for safety. Though far in distance with our loved ones, we are united in sorrow. We pray to Allah, the Most Merciful, for His protection over the innocent, His patience for the grieving, His guidance for all hearts, and an end to violence through justice and peace.
We also remind our community to care for one another, especially our children and youth. Let us shield them from the trauma of war images and headlines, speak to them with tenderness, and give them the tools to grow in compassion rather than fear. Their emotional well-being is a sacred trust.
IHCCO stands as a refuge, a home, and a source of strength. May we uplift one another with mercy, patience, and faith.
May Allah protect the innocent.
May He comfort the grieving.
May peace, with justice, return to our homeland.
Ameen.
With care and solidarity,
IHCCO Public Relations
